Midwest UX Conference

UX is "user experience", the way a person feels about using a system. The industry built around this works to design systems that are natural and intuitive for the end user.

Two UX professional associations in Columbus, OH hosted a UX conference in April 2011. Similar national conferences have $800 registrations, but COUPA and IxDA Columbus wanted to offer a superior value at a regional level, with widely-recognized industry leaders in UX at a $200 registration. Being web professionals, they assumed a CMS would be rigid and put the kibosh on their ability to manage their content. Instead, I provided them with a system that embraced their visual design and accommodated their style and layout expectations, while still giving the backend structure and data-driven "I-dotting" and "T-crossing" that TYPO3 provides. The system facilitated multiple volunteer content editors quickly becoming proficient with TYPO3 to building multi-column layouts and jQuery animated photo carousels.
